The Intergalactic Lubavitcher Zionism of the Rav (Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik)
This is the third article I've written on my evolving Zionism. Like others, the bulk of the article will be behind a paywall. The teaser is that I did NOT realize that I, too, hold like Chabad!
The Torah content from now through Lag ba'Omer has been generously sponsored by Malky M. June is less than a month away which means that I'll soon be transitioning into "summer writing mode," with more substack articles and fewer recorded shiurim. The bulk of these articles will remain free. However, if you would like to support my Torah AND gain access to additional spicy written content, consider becoming a paid subscriber today!

The Intergalactic Lubavitcher Zionism of the Rav (Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik)
I’m a big fan of Torah memes. Without a doubt, the most masterfully crafted meme I’ve ever laid eyes on is the magnum opus of meme-artist Torah u’Memeda. This meme is so deep that it can actually be studied. Behold:
Whenever I look at this meme, I get lost in thought and wonder. I will be the first to admit that I do not understand all these references – and yet, they all manage to strike me as hilarious for different reasons.
The panel I suspect will be understandable to most readers is “Intergalactic Lubavitcher Kiruv Empire.” To spell out the joke: Lubavitch Chasidism (a.k.a. Chabad) is so successful and ambitious in its kiruv that the meme-author assumes its eschatological aspirations must be nothing short of an intergalactic empire, in which Chabad shluchim transcend earthly boundaries and establish Chabad houses on every planet, so that every Jew, no matter how far-flung, can connect with Ha’Kadosh Baruch Hu.
You can imagine my surprise and delight when I encountered a serious reference to an intergalactic Lubavitcher empire by none other than Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik in the context of his views on Zionism!
